January 12, 2004

Chairman Mann called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m.

IV. Minutes of the December 8, 2003 meeting.

Moved by Mr. Cook, supported by Mr. Grutza, to approve the minutes of the meeting of December 8, 2003, as presented. Ayes all, with Ms. Karell and Mr. Bohlander abstaining as they were not present at the meeting.

V. Old Business. – There was none.

VI. New Business.

    A. Update on Status of Ann Arbor Road Streetscape Project

Terry Croad of McKenna Associates updated the members and said additional information would be available after the meeting with MDOT tomorrow, January 13.

    B. Overview of Proposed Amendments to the ARC, Ann Arbor Road
        Corridor Zoning.

Ms. Neary of McKenna Associates reviewed the proposed changes to the Zoning Ordinance which affect the Ann Arbor Road Corridor, specifically with regard to signs, landscaping and streetscape changes.

    C. Sample Changeable Message Signs

The Board reviewed pictures of changeable message signs. It was their consensus that changeable message signs should not be allowed in the ARC District.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:55 p.m.
