Planning Commission

Planning Commission meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the third Wednesday of each month. (In December, the regular meeting is held on the second Wednesday.)  Work Session meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month.  Regular meetings are held in the Plymouth Township Hall, Board Meeting Room, 9955 N. Haggerty Road. Work Sessions are held in the Conference Room.  Please see the schedule below for scheduled meeting and submission dates.

Duties

The Planning Commission’s responsibilities include the following.

1. Establishing, interpreting, reviewing and refining the Master Plan for the
    Community.

2. Recommending zoning which is consistent with the Master Plan.

3. Holding public hearings to receive and evaluate public comment and
    make recommendations to the Board of Trustees as required. Public
    Hearings are held for rezoning requests, special land use requests,
    requests to develop under the Cluster Housing, Planned Unit
    Development or Residential Unit Development Options, and Tentative
    Preliminary Plat requests.

4. Reviewing and approving plans for development, such as site plans that
    are in harmony with the Master Plan and the overall best interest of the
    Township and are in compliance with the Zoning Ordinance.
